We’re thrilled to announce a collaborative pollinator habitat restoration project between East Merced Resource Conservation District (RCD) and Bowles Farming Company, located in the heart of California’s Central Valley—one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world.
Pollinators are critical to the success of our food systems. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators contribute to the reproduction of more than 75% of flowering plants and 30% of the world’s food crops. Yet, their populations are declining due to habitat loss, pesticide use, invasive species, and climate change.
That’s why we’re taking action.
This project is just one step in a broader vision of land stewardship, regenerative agriculture, and community engagement. By working together, we can make a meaningful difference for pollinators—and for future generations of farmers and eaters alike.
Follow along as we continue to monitor growth, biodiversity, and pollinator activity at the site. We'll be sharing updates, photos, and insights from the field!
