SWEEP, Irrigation Efficiency & Soil Health Workshop

Wednesday, June 21, 2017
          9am to 11:00 am

The East Merced Resource Conservation District (EMRCD) and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will be hosting an on-farm Land Owner Workshop in June.  The EMRCD will be discussing the State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP). SWEEP is administered by CDFA and provides financial assistance in the form of grants to implement irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gasses and save water on California agricultural operations.

The property where this workshop will be held has already been enrolled in SWEEP and the improved irrigation system will be on display.

The local NRCS office will also be in attendance to discuss soil health and irrigation efficiency.  NRCS also has grant funding available to address on-farm resource issues and make improvements to farmland.
